Where are the Energy Vortexes in Florida?

Myakka River State Park is host to several energy vortexes in Florida. Some require long hikes in open sun. Others are tucked in the shadows of twisted trails full of tree roots that must be navigated with care. Sarasota vortex tours can be customized to your skill and interest level. Unsurprisingly, the most potent energy vortex in this Florida park is not a walk in the park ;)

Vortex Trailhead

Vortex tours are all about Location, Location… Vortex Location

But today, the magic only happened once we were out of the vortex location. We set off from the vortex trailhead towards the singing tree. This vortex got it’s name from the first time I meditated there and my guest spontaneously burst out into song. The most beautiful thing happened on this vortex tour, the birds sang back! And that’s the magic of Myakka. When you greet nature, nature speaks back. My vortex tours focus on how to listen deeply to nature. So we get quiet and listen.

I knew that there was a prescribed burn in the park the week prior, however I didn’t look at the map close enough. Because once the tree came into view, my heart sank, the singing tree was burned to a crisp! She was reclaimed by the flames and will become part of the renewed soil.

Vortex Travelers

In a park like Myakka, there is always a plan B, and plan C, and plan XYZ. So we turned around, found a shady nook in an oak hammock and traveled into the energy vortex. The meditation was short and sweet and nothing world shattering, like a burnt tree :( But the tour is not over after the meditation. Not at all, the journey has just begun because it is essential to integrate your experience.

The non-vortex energy of Florida

The last stop of the tour is usually next to the big lake. After we passed through the vortex trailhead again, we went to an integration point, near water, and got still. Remember the importance of listening to nature? You’ll see how powerful it really can be. There are a few good spot next to the lake, so I have options if one is already full of people. Today’s integration spot was near the road, so we had the familiar comfort of our cars, ready to chariot us home after a victorious jaunt into nature. The trees along the lake are old, sprawling, and gentle as your grandmothers touch. I guided us to a safe, comfortable seat and gazed out to the horizon. We were able to get really quiet, turn inward, and tap back into that vortex energy. It was easy to relax into the Earth because we are feeling comfortably full on the vortex energy.

The animals in the energy vortex of Florida

Hiking in Myakka is one of the best locations to view wildlife. Since working with vortex energy is an art of subtleness, the wildlife responds to our gentle presence. My guests were completely entranced by soaking up the grand vista, that they did not notice the large flock of birds parading less than 20 feet from where we were sitting. It was 4 adult turkeys wit a gaggle of babies sandwiched between their protective leaders. I’ve seen wild turkeys in the park before. But never with 20+ babies! It was such a blessing to be witness to such a big family. My guest said it was the highlight of his tour! Definitely coming back.

Wild Turkey Summer Survey

Turkey sightings are more than just a lucky day. It’s a chance to participate in citizen science. The Florida FWC asks for reports on wild turkey sightings to help inform data on population size and health. I was really excited to report the sighting and be a part of citizen science while on a vortex tour.
